Paramount Ice is proud to announce that former professional hockey player Daniel Catenacci has joined the organization as Partner and Co-Head of Hockey Development. The addition of Catenacci strengthens Paramount Ice’s leadership group and reinforces the company’s commitment to professional-level player development for all levels.
About Daniel
A recently retired professional hockey player, Catenacci brings over a decade of experience competing at the highest levels of the game, including the NHL, AHL, OHL, Europe, and international competition. Drafted 77th overall by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, he built a reputation as a high-tempo, intelligent forward known for his speed, competitiveness, and attention to detail.
Catenacci began his elite career as the 1st overall selection in the 2009 OHL Priority Selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and later starred with the Owen Sound Attack, establishing himself as one of the OHL’s most complete two-way forwards. His professional career included appearances in the NHL with the Buffalo Sabres and New York Rangers, as well as multiple seasons in Europe with HCB South Tyrol (Bolzano), competing in Austria’s top professional league, the ICE Hockey League.
On the international stage, Catenacci represented Team Canada early in his career before later competing for Team Italy as a dual national at the IIHF World Championships. His experience playing for two national programs provides a global perspective on the game and a deep understanding of varied development systems, coaching philosophies, and performance standards.
Now transitioning directly from his playing career into a leadership role, Catenacci brings a current, player-driven perspective to Paramount Ice. Having just stepped away from the professional game, he understands exactly what today’s players need to succeed, from skill development to preparation, accountability, and the professional habits required to advance to the next level.
“Bringing Daniel Catenacci on as a Partner and Co-Head of Hockey was a natural fit for Paramount Ice,” said Daniel Erlich, Director of Hockey Development and Partner.
“Daniel has just come out of the professional game and brings a level of insight, credibility, and detail that today’s players are looking for. His experience across junior, professional, and international hockey, combined with his work ethic and shared vision for player development, makes him an invaluable addition to our leadership group.”
