ELITE – Girls Winter Break Camp
The Girls High Performance Winter Break Camp is designed for advanced female athletes ages 12 and older who are looking for a challenging, focused training environment over the holiday break.
Athletes will complete two high-tempo on-ice sessions each day, one hour of hockey-specific dryland and a daily classroom session led by Coach Sam. On-ice training will focus on advanced skating, puck skills, hockey IQ, tactical decision-making, compete habits and executing under pressure.
The classroom component will explore leadership, nutrition, recovery, mindset and wellness. Each day is designed to help athletes better understand what it takes to perform, lead and take care of themselves at a high level.
Athletes will also complete on-ice performance metrics testing to establish measurable benchmarks in key areas of their game. Testing will include shot accuracy, Hockey Canada agility testing, forward sprint with the puck, backward sprint with the puck and forward slalom with the puck. Results will help athletes better understand their strengths and identify areas for continued development.
The High Performance group will have its own separate dryland, classroom and off-ice schedule.
